Review the parameters in the various tabs. Go to Configure Plants, then click the pencil icon next to the secondary loop name. Leaving each at 100 percent will cause each to be sized for 100 percent of the total plant load. If more than one boiler is used, set the sizing factor of each so that the sum of their sizing factors equals 100 percent. Pump performance curves vary with the size and scale of the pump. Motor efficiency must abide by ASHRAE 90.1-10 Section 10.4.1 and/or Table G3.1 Section 12, which sets the required efficiency based upon nameplate horsepower, which varies with the pump capacity, which varies with the load. Consider creating a new library for a pump reasonable for the specific scenario, as a large split case centrifugal pump performs differently than a small end suction centrifugal pump. Since pump performance varies with the size and type of pump, review the assumptions for the pump. Set the pump according to ASHRAE 90.1-10 Section G3.1.3.5. Set the boiler(s) according to ASHRAE 90.1-10 Table 6.8.1F and Section G3.1.3.2, especially the energy performance requirement. In the Controls tab, the hot-water supply temperature reset was preconfigured to follow ASHRAE 90.1-10 Section G3.1.3.4. Always review the Components tab for each project. In the Loop Sizing tab, the loop temperatures were preconfigured to follow ASHRAE 90.1-10 Section G3.1.3.3. Go to Configure Plants, then click the pencil icon next to the hot water loop name.
